I Am Lost

He spoke of the universe
as if it was an old friend.
I, a humble being, was taken away
by his tales of loss and sorrow.
He took my hand,
and guided me
into the mysterious unknowns.
He was a friend,
who was smiling and wondrous,
But the constellations of his eyes
told the sad stories
of beginnings and endings.
How I long to help,
how I long to heal those sad constellations,
lost in the depths of his hazel eyes.
But alas,
I am a humble being,
shy and lost myself.
I am lost
in the cluster of stars in the sky at night,
I am lost
in the dullness of the colors of the day.
I am lost
and waiting to drift back down to the ground.
