I am Not Beautiful

I am not beautiful.
I am not beautiful for your eyes to see.
For your words to tell.
For your hands to touch.

I am not beautiful.
I am not beautiful for your selfish intentions.
For your lusting soul.
For your longing heart.

I am not beautiful.
I am not beautiful in a dark room.
On a quiet street.
In a hidden place.

I am not beautiful.
I am not beautiful for the screen in your hand.
The double tap on demand.
The pressure of fitting in.

I am not beautiful for you.

I am beautiful for 1,000 colors painting the canvas of the night sky.
For golden sunflower fields.
For a greater purpose.

I am not beautiful for you.

I am beautiful for slow Sundays.
For special occasions.
For a proud family.

I am not beautiful for you.

I am beautiful for weekends.
Wearing loose sweatpants.
With a messy bun pinned high on my head.

And most of all I am beautiful for Him.

But I am not beautiful.

For you.
Or for them.
I am not beautiful for anyone outside of His plan.
