I am strong.

My mother once told me;
"Never that you're weak"
I never really understood it;
but I couldn't let her down.

Bangles and anklets;
I grew through it all
Fought boys and girls;
I could not let her down.

I remember helping a lost wanderer;
who left me secluded
For girls never shed a tear;
I endured it all

His senseless whispers; a buzz in my ears
That awful gauge pierced through my heart
Night after night, without an inch of sleep
Those disgusting hands, I yearned freedom.

I tossed and turned until it got worse;
for I need to stay strong;
I couldn't let my mom down
I am strong, mom; I cant let you down.
