I Call You Mommy

On the day that we first met,
You wrapped your arms around my neck.
A kiss on my cheek, then you stood in a line.
There were no tears, except for mine.
"What's you name?" , you boldly asked.
"Sherry" I answered, my laughter barely masked.
And though only moments had passed since you first saw me,
You looked in my eyes and said "no, I call you Mommy" .
