I Can

Can I defeat my foes in battle?
Can I relinquish my fears in war?
Am I able to reach the mountain top
When I've fallen so many times before?

Could I endure the harsh sting life throws
And continue to trudge on in spite of pain?
Can I withstand the staggering blows
That hit me again and again?

Everyone everywhere tells me no
But, within the walls of my heart
There's a still small voice whispering "go"
And it breaks my fears apart.

So, I beat my foes in battle
And I conquer my fears in war.
I rise up far above my failures
Though they've held me back before.

All because of the still small voice
That fought against "no you can't"
I decided then to make the choice
To show the roaring world that I can.
