I cannot stay silent

My fear outweighs my pride.
I could be one out of twelve who die.
I cannot stay quiet, but boys don’t cry.

We’re not that different, me and you.
But why am I more likely to be shot and killed?
I don’t feel safe in this world I call “home”
Why is it different for me and you?
(I cannot stay silent.)

Just like Trump said, I can’t serve for the country I live in.
But still, I am expected to keep my head down and not complain.
(I cannot stay silent.)

I feel trapped in this body that isn't me.
When will I feel free?
This just is not me.
Don't you see?
(I cannot stay silent.)
