I Can’t Say Goodbye

I can't say good-bye, its way to hard,
with my heart in my throat, and tears in my eyes.
My mind is now crowded with memories of earlier times,
when life was so sweet, and you were by my side.

I see you laughing, and walking so tall,
holding my hand and leading the way,
as we go into school on my very first day.

I see us together as we share a meal, and you reach down
with a smile, to wipe my mouth.
I can't say good-bye, its way to hard,
with my heart in my throat, and tears in my eyes.

I see you running beside me,
on my bike in the street.
I see the bat, and ball,
you knew it would be such a treat to me.

I know its suppose to get easier, time heals all wounds,
I've heard that song before,
but my heart can't play that tune.
my head says I'll see you again someday,
all the pain I feel, will surly go away.

I can't say good-bye, its way to hard,
with my heart in my throat, and tears in my eyes.
So for now I'll just say, Good Night Daddy,
I'll see you soon, when Jesus calls me home too.
