I Choose You

By ysf

I want to believe there’s more to us.
That our story is bigger than others.
Our story is one for the books.
turning the magnanimous youth into the world’s knights of love.
As I sit bruised and battered in this room,
I know it it’s true.
I am down on knees,
pleading to my listening god for everlasting
as I’m told once more,
“you two are the definition of love.”
I know we are.
We know we are.
But I beg of you,
let us fall.
For in a story like this,
fate needs her fair fight,
I need to let my love go.
For there isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do
to make it to part two.
Even if that means,
it’s time we let go.
I’ll put my armor back on,
fight from afar for me and for you.
I know whole heartedly,
This universe will manifest what we choose.
I chose you then,
I choose you now.
Fall apart my love,
become someone new,
And I promise,
to choose once more
And have it only be you.

This is about my forever love. Needing a second chance and knowing it can't be now.
