I Did Not Know

We stand still
I did not know
I did not know that I will just be another statistic
Another black boy not yet a man
Killed by a bullet whose owner was a white man
I did not know
That a black hoodie makes me a prey
The predator yet gets away
He lives I die
I did not know
That being black was a crime
But white is just a gold mine
I did not know
That I was just another accident
In the war we call life
I did not know
That my friends will cry and some more will die
I should've been born white
Than I will have more a chance
If I was born white this incident would've never occurred
But in the end we all stand still
