I don’t know how to harden my heart
I don’t know how to harden my heart.
I don’t know how to be hard and cold
When I should be.
I’ve been hurt and put down,
Hurt in ways only imagined.
Yet my heart is soft.
Looking for the beauty of the world.
the good in the bad,
Having faith in all things.looking for beauty always ,
From the way the clouds are in the skies,
To the sunset and twilight,
The colors of the garden,
The laughter of children and friends,
The songs of birds, the stars and moon.
I don’t know how to harden my heart,
I’d rather have it soft, kind, and loving.
