I feel so sorry for her

I feel so sorry for her.
Oh, so sorry for her.
The things that she has been through,
pain her heart has been to.
She walks past me, hiding her secret.
and trusting no one else to keep it.
I cannot help to feel sorry for her.
She seems so hopeless and weak,
finding no pleasure in the desire to seek,
A life full of something.
A life full of anything.
And I cannot help to feel sorry for her.
She sits here so misunderstood,
always questioning, if only she could
just close her eyes and let go,
of all she has been forced to know.
But I cannot help to feel sorry for her.
She does not realize,
to look past the cold stare of judging eyes.
And her days feel like night.
In her chest is pressure so tight.
Can anyone feel sorry for her?
She provokes many thoughts of mine to stir,
mostly sympathy for her.
But if I look a bit closer I can see,
this pain, this girl, is me.
And I feel so sorry for her.
