I Hear America Weeping

“I Hear America weeping”

I hear America weeping
For the poor souls lost to brutality,
For those sickened and left with no hope,
For those who have lost the many, the few and the none.
I hear America weeping for hope,
For a better tomorrow despite the grim reality,
For a sense of unity long lost in the tragedies of the present
A weeping for the outspoken, but unheard.
All that is left is an emptiness filled with rage and doubt,
But time goes by and the weeping ends.
Time has healed the broken and sheltered the weak
Hope is renewed and unity is restored
But sadly this will not last
The truth is, the weeping never ends.
