I live in a house

I live in a house with walls
with two moms and no dad
if only the house could tell you
about all the love it had

I live in a house with a roof
to protect me from the dark above
I call the roof my mothers
who fills our house with love

I live in a house with acceptance
where it doesn't matter if I'm straight or gay
I can be whoever i want to be;
I know they'll love me either way

I live in a house with hate
from people who tell us that our family isn't right
but how can it be wrong for two mothers
to tuck in their children at night?

I live in a house with love
And I know I'll never walk alone
Because I don’t really live in a house
I live in a home
