I Love My Dog

I love my dog, and she loves me.
And how is it I know?
Well, if you have a dog like me
you simply know it's so.

My dog will never stipulate
nor in insistence dwell,
except at day's end I return
from morning's fond farewell.

A steady stream of food and drink,
a trusty place to poop,
keeps my dog a happy pooch,
my job is just to "scoop".

My dog, she gives me pleasure pure,
a constant sense of sunny.
And I but scratch behind her ears
or on appeal, her tummy.

I am much better with my dog,
my soul a purer place.
The joy I know is without price
each time I see her face.

I love my dog, and she loves me.
And how is it I know?
Well, if you've read this ode to her
you know now why it's so.
