I Must

Seven simple letters,
and an eternal meaning.
Goodbye hits us hard,
and really leaves us feening.
One more chance,
one last kiss.
But after goodbye,
there is no more bliss.
It must end here,
I must let you go.
But before it's all over,
I must let you know:
I love you truly,
I love you dear.
I hate this part,
this part right here.
Forever in my heart,
your presence will always glow.
And I wish I could rewind
to when our feelings began to grow.
Please make this easy,
even though it's not.
I want this to end quietly,
right in this very spot.
As I let you go, please begin to fly.
I love you forever, but for now this is goodbye.
