I Remember Its Beauty

I Remember Its Beauty

I remember its beauty
like golden sun in the blood of my veins
I remember
it pouring out into an angel's cup
from which she drank
to set a golden glow upon her halo.

I remember its beauty
like a yellow rose
whose long, green stem grew grey with the Earth below it,
as it soaked up all of the sun.

I forgot its beauty
like a chill in the night,
In the dawn of winter
murderous frost began to consume my heart.
I extinguished the sun,
and forcefully tore it away.
