I Secede

Can the world chastise you when it has no idea your rapports.
Well.
Screw that!
How dare you tell me my choices are for an oaf,
I don't care if you don't know
Those stupid middle school jokes!
I could look you in the eye,
And scare you dead with my tales,
I could tell you the truth.
I could scar you for an eternity with my sinister poetry,
But I'll secede...
Happiness is a sheer fading memory.
Hope only an implausible dream...
The world on my shoulders
I secede.
To finally be me--
I secede.
And though they weep for me.
I secede:
From self pity,
From self malign,
Self hate.
I secede.
Finally accounting me--
I secede.
And though they weep for me.
I secede.
