I See Perfection
I see perfection in her face,
Her trials have left no wrink'l or trace.
No single hair is out of place,
Each lovely glimpse of her I'd chase.
I hear her tender words so sweet,
Each syllable an awesome treat.
The gentle patter of her feet,
Soothes me as we walk down the street.
I smell the beauty of her scent,
Each scrap to me the wind has lent.
It may seem strange ts'not how I meant,
On pleasing her, my heart's been bent.
I to uch her hand and she draws back,
I don't know what it is I lack.
Her broken record skips my track,
And slowly paints my pure soul black.
I taste the pain rise in my throat,
But on such things I can not dote.
The things I say, I'll sugar coat,
And dig myself a deeper moat.
I know she's in a different league,
That may be what steals my intrigue.
I try my best, and feel fatigued,
Our future looks even more bleak.
I love her but I will not fall,
No matter how my heart may call.
I will not try to catch that ball,
I'll stay secure within my wall
