I Walk This Road Alone
My journey lies ahead of me, composed of dust and stone,
In youth thrown caution to the wind, I walk this road alone.
I cannot see what lies ahead, the future is not known,
Perhaps its best I do not know; I walk this road alone.
I glance behind, from time to time, to see how I have grown,
But now that road is fading, as I walk this road alone.
There have been times of trouble, when I trip and fall and moan,
All bruised and battered I still rise, to walk this road alone.
I stop to watch the leaves above; the gusts of wind have blown,
Their colors red and yellow, as I walk this road alone.
A moment spent reflecting, how time for me has flown,
The road before me changing, as I walk this road alone.
The air now seems a changing; it chills me to the bone,
It once was warm and comforting, I walk this road alone.
Many joys encountered, these gems upon a throne,
For happiness goes with me, as I walk this road alone.
Many the experience, a comfort that I own,
These are the seeds of memories, I walk this road alone.
Surrounded now by loved ones, whose feelings toward me shown,
That life was meant for sharing, and should not be walked alone
