I Walked in My Garden

I walked in my garden today,
Saw a robin redbreast hunting for food.
I smelled the rain, felt the dew under my feet,
It was cold and wet,
Soft and cozy, the grass beneath me.

A breeze swept through my hair,
I shivered, but only for a moment.
You were there, handing me a warm cup of coffee.
A sweater in hand, you wrapped it around me,
Like the lover I know and with your sweet words,
Filling me with joy and love.

Taking the seat you offered me,
The warmth of your guiding hand.
Life is so sweet shared together,
In nature we bask, taking it all in.

Everything is new again,
Birds singing their lovely wake up songs.
Hearing their sounds, it is so beautiful,
So comforting, like a warm blanket,
Their music covers me, washes through me.
I feel the love they send me.
Little Birds I hear you, I whisper to them.
Thank you for your sweet songs.
