I Wander Where--I Wonder?
The waves seen to rise and the winds doth fair blow.
The seaweed lies in a tangled morass
In close array to the sand-covered grass.
I wander the forests where the air is so clean
The whispering sounds are heard--listen to the stream!
The trail is so faint and I step with great care
Forever to watch the moist ferns and dark stones lying there.
I wander the skies--see the clouds racing past
The heavens so pure and always to last.
The blue of the skies now bright--now so dark
Gave me courage to speak to the little brown lark.
I wander the lake and the loons seem to say,
"Welcome back to our lair never stay far away."
Their call of the night with stars ever bright
I recall many days gone by without fright.
I wander the paths of my boyhood's past times
Where I played in the streets and drew straight chalk lines.
Where have they gone these wanderers of old?
My friends of those days were always so bold.
To remember the wandering and travels long gone
It's my way of leaving if only by song.
