I Want to Hold You

I want to hold you til
Summer's end,
Until leaves lie on
Colorless grass,
Until Christmas past.

Until January's New Year
And winter's bitter cold,
Until spring brings forth
New life, yet we are old.

Until death has parted us awhile
And we unite again,
For in eternity, my desire,
Will be to hold you then.

One touches whom they love
As often as they may.
I want to hold you endlessly
Forever and a day.
