I welcome you death


I’ve walked to the edge of the driveway many times…
Watched the cars pass by…

Some look...
Some stare...
Some honk...

I’ve wondered what they would say at the funeral…
Would they know that I walked out and stood there with open arms…
Begging for death to take me…
To slip it’s chilling hand around me…

Maybe they would they be stupid enough to believe it was an accident…
That I accidently walked out on to the highway and got hit by a car…
I’ll walk out today…
And I’ll open my arms and wait for death to take my hand…

I welcome you death…
Come for me…
