I Will Move
Life's stern fist rages; I carry this burden upon my back.
I have pushed its weight through trenches,
fearing the war raging around me.
I have inched through mud and blood and sweat and tears.
I have gone farther than the shadows and footprints before me.
I have made way for my sisters and daughters behind me
In hopes they will hasten each time.
The weight is heavy;
I have not yet reached a point of rest,
But I have moved.
Each day, though the successes are small,
I will move.
