I will wait
I will wait,
for the day your reflection changes and you see yourself as I do.
Echoes of long-ago insults inspire present self image.
Only hearing voices of past degradation, believing them true.
Try as I will, try as I might yet my plight holds no longer.
Fearfully accepting I must to you hand over my view point of the front lines.
For it is truly seeing which destroys fears, brings wisdom and will make you stronger.
Terrified by the impact life brings, either you will swim or become bait.
All the while sporting my thousand yard stare, patience brings results so,
I will wait.
