Icarian in Nature

I am Icarus
And his eyes are the sun
Perhaps Icarus
Had not the wings of a bird
But of a moth
Drawn to the brightest flame
In all the heavens
Those eyes
Are like nothing I've ever seen
What a soul you have
But I've flown too close
And the wax has melted
My feathers
Have fallen away
And I'm crashing
Towards the sea

This Poems Story

I'm not going to lie, I wrote this poem while watching a hockey game. Sometimes inspiration strikes in the strangest places.
