I’d Rather Love

Prideful, pride fool
I'm a fool for pride
It stands by my side
I realized, though
It makes me slide
Down the wrong
To a point where I crash
Is what I need to do with it - drop it
It’s on fire
The burn
Is more for me than for your own
So prideful...I will no longer be: a pride fool
Because I’m stronger than I used to be
I’m fire-fueled
Kindness: “Turn the other cheek”
This is what I would rather be
Remembered for
No longer a fool, no longer prideful
Love-fueled: this is the new me.
