If I Could Steal A Star

The summer night summer breeze,
Whispers softy against my arm.
I hold my hand up high,
The outline of it black against the stars,
Those little diamond lights in the sky.
I'd steal one if I could.
I would put it in my room,
I'd keep it in a jar.
And when I'd want to make a wish,
I'd let it out
And hold it in my hand.
I'd murmur to it,
And let it do its magic.
And when my prayer would come true,
I'd let my star go,
Back up to the sky
Back where it belongs.
