If I Should Die Before I Wake
What do you see when you look in the glass
A broken picture pain that always starts
What else could possibly be found out there?
An empty world a soul too hard to bear
Forever and always the pain that stays
It lives rent free, your head its resting place
The sorrow fills each day up to the brim
The beating of your heart it wears so thin
Fall deep in sleep the dream it overtakes
A fantasy, you find it hard to wake
A choking grasp upon your heart and soul
A painful feeling, one you too well know
What do you pray for on the silent nights?
A life without demons, and death to frights
A special place one day you'll call your own
Your alarm sounds, your dreams leave you alone
Awaken to this place that reeks of dead
The tears they come, you pray for hope instead.
