If Tears Fell Up

If tears fell up
They’d never streak your face
Or stain your pillow case.
If tears fell up
You’d never taste their salt
Or watch their rainbows on asphalt.
If tears fell up
There’s be no friend to wipe them dry -
Strait from your eye to the sky.

Tears fall down
To irrigate your skin,
The arid land within.
Tears fall down
To glass your vision,
To reveal the hidden.
Tears fall down
To dismember walls -
When a voice is too weary to call.
