If These Old Walls Could Talk

By

If these old walls could talk
Oh the stories they would tell. Stories of
Days filled with laughter, family chaos and pranks
Holiday dinners and celebrations
First days of schools and graduations
Going to Church on Sundays
Friends being made to feel like Family
New additions being welcomed
Tragic losses being grieved
Old traditions being practiced
New traditions being formed
Children running through the house laughing
And then as adults walking out the door
For this old house has been home to four generations
And a place where you knew you could always find love
In this house you could feel the love and warmth
When you walked through the door
And when Mom would greet you with a smile -
You just knew you were home!
I thank God for these memories of home
Memories that I will always carry in my heart!
Yes, if these old walls could talk -
They would tell a story of a family -
A family of faith and love
Who showed love to all
That entered through the door of this old house!
