If Trust Was a Mirror

If trust were a mirror, it'd be an easy one to break.
One that could sometimes be repaired.
But once broken, never the same.
You may pick up shards & pieces and salvage what you can.
Then, you'd sweep out the rest with an old broom and dust pan.
You'd always see the cracks and notice the tiny faults.
It would never be the same mirror that once hung in your vault.
So you'd trash the old glass and find your paint-cans and a brush.
For it's ashes to the crashes and it's dust to the rust.
Let this serve as a reminder to all, or bust!
May we all be mindful of those we entrust.
