If You Could Love

I wanted to build a Snowman so bad I used all of dad's shaving cream.
When the sticks wouldn't stay and that wasn't enough,
I smashed all the ice I could find.
Until I made you.
I squeezed you so tightly
Until you started to melt in my arms.
As you laid upon my floor, beneath my feet
I laid down beside you and let you die
Upon my body as a snow Angel.
You never loved me; for you were just snow.
I however will always treasure you.
For you made me smile in the small time we had.
