If you were here

What would I say
If you were here today?

Would we talk for Hours as if you had
Never went away?

I've thought about it
Over the years but I
Get distracted trying to hold back the tears

I miss your voice and
Your amazing smile
Fourteen years it's been awhile

Perhaps we'd watch the sun set in the evening sky before the night ends and we must say good-bye

Cancer huh?
You never told
You know me
I have to ask
"Why?"

By the way how is heaven? I have a son
He's now eleven

Isn't it amazing
How fast they grow?

I wish you could have met him before you had to go

What did you say?
"You already know"

Mom wait now I know what I would say if you were here with me

Hey Angel thanks
For watching over me

This Poems Story

Written for my mother who passed away from Cancer. I know she watches over me from Heaven each and every day
