Ignorance Is Bliss

I had a funny feeling,
that something was amiss.
A prospect at hand,
I could not understand,
if ignorance was bliss.

I could not grope the notion,
that life was much more fair,
If what you knew,
brought peace too you,
If less of it was there.

I suppose remaining clueless,
of the truth you still try to resist,
never to worry,
as each fact is blurry;
you never will know what you've missed.

So if I should look back now,
Naïve I might have been.
But life was good,
When I less understood,
The workings and ways of men.
