I’m a Nobody’s Woman

It means
That shoulders must yield to gravity
Because we and are
Pronouns
That belong to the worlds
Of different vows.

It means
That an eye must meet midnight
By making stains with
Contours
Drifting like baby earth's
First oceans.

It means
That rainfall must remind of steps
By feet that never ran
Towards the doors with bells
That never rang.

It means
That hands must burn the letters
Unwritten and
Unsigned by
Sincerely not Yours.
