I’m Me, Not You

Being patient isn't easy,
And love only causes pain.
All my flaws I show again and again.
I'm not perfect I know,
but it's who I am and that's what I show.
People ask me, why do I act like I do?
I just say I'm me, not you.
I go on from day to day,
Wishing I could find the words to say.
My friends go on and on about how he should know;
I know I love him and they do too.
But all I can say is I'm me, not you.
People should stop trying to change me;
I like being perfectly flawed.
They say the same thing all the time-
My reply is always I'm me, not you.
