I’m Not Gone

I'm not gone.
Though you shed tears of sorrow
And look for answers in the dark, I'm not gone.
I'm not gone, though you look up above as your heart breaks in angst
I'm not gone.
Though you search day after day for that comfort,
I'm not gone.
Look in your heart.
I'm not gone.
Feel me in the breeze, I'm not gone.
I'm not gone.
I'm that voice in the wind.
I'm not gone.
I'm that twinkle in your eye.
I'm not gone.
I'm every step behind you watching your
I'm not gone.
I'm right there always.
Fear not, my loves, I'm not gone.

This Poems Story

This poem was inspired by the passing of both my parents in 2015. Gary Harmer passed away October 15, 2015, and my mother Marie Hannah-Harmer passed away October 28, 2015. Their love endured forever, but those left behind needed comfort. This poem was written and read at their services. My hope is that it is read and may comfort others.
