I’m sorry.

When your heart wasn’t beating
As we anxiously waited to see on the screen
Something I knew had broke in me
I think I knew for a little while
And I didn’t want to believe the truth
Because if I knew what is was,
It wasn’t going to be you
So as your parents sat there in somber
We only wanted you so much harder
And the cold winter nights grew longer
They never prepare you for what you don’t want to see
All we need was a heartbeat from you and me
I weep inside until until my eyes run dry
Your father looks at me with tears in his eyes
But how could we love someone so much
without meeting them
It’s because they were apart of you
And it’s time they only knew
