I'm Sorry

I could write you a love song,
sad, frail, and full of my apology,
But your long gone,
and I'm bad at sincerity.
I wish I could hold you,
every single night.
I want to take your pain,
from every dang fight.
Instead I won't tell you,
I'll just run away.
Away from my problems,
the ones I'm keeping at bay.
I won't tell you I'm sorry,
for mentally pushing you to the ground,
I won't cry any more tears,
No, I can't make a sound.
If I had the guts,
I'd go pound on your door.
Beg you for forgiveness,
but I know you don't want to see me anymore.
Sometimes I dial your number, but can't hit send.
I know what you'd say and I can't handle goodbye,
Because I'd stay up for nights,
just wondering why.
