Images Of Tenderness

Hands, which trembled at the thought
Of getting in the way
When a gentle gift was brought
For them to give away

Eyes, which somehow seem to see
What mirrors won't reflect
Watching as they stared at me
Through tears of retrospect

Lips, which spoke with silent touch
That meant far more than this
Little asked for - or too much
But answered with a kiss

Love, which with I render less
Appropriate a word
For images of tenderness
Whenever they've occurred
