Immortality

The end is near, or has it come
I fear I've left too much undone
They say a good man mustn't hesitate
When finally he is forced to meet his fate
However, I must politely disagree
For the moment the reaper stands before me
I will clench my fists and make it known
That the taking of my life I won't condone
Until all the seeds of my being have been sown
Even if I am forced to walk this earth alone

I am here to stay and stay I shall
Until I decide its time to take my bow
My mind is sharp and my heart is strong
With a will in me that transcends all wrong
I will rise above any and all adversity
Do whatever it takes to achieve reciprocity
Until I stand an accomplished man
Who sits well above where he began

At this time and at this moment
Only now will I accept annulment
And go quietly into the unknown darkness
Confidently smiling, knowing my life was boundless
