In a Bed of You

i can not sleep without you in the bed;
i know it's silly but it's adamant.
without you there, no dreams will reach my head,
and i don't say it for the sentiment.

i find sweet comfort laying ‘pon your chest
my head; your heartbeat singing me to sleep,
and i would love forever here to rest
and ever be the girl you long to keep.

though mine are closed now, i can feel your eyes
are looking down at me; my dreams are near,
and though i know you think i tell you lies,
i swear that dreaming’s pointless when you're near.

if i should never sleep again, rejoice!
the only rest i need is in your voice
