In Another Life

He strives with knives
So sanctified
He claims no blame
For all those lies
He walks away
He falls astray
Until there's no one
Left to play

He did it to himself
He knows
But pride can be
A ten foot hole
Where darkness creeps
And no one weeps
Over one lost
In a hundred sheep

And so his journey
Will begin
On a road to
Trial and sin
But no one helps him
Drop his knife
Though they could have been him
In another life
