In Case of Depression

You are going to be okay
In case of emergency,
Break the glass and let us out
First: humble yourself
Then let the memories run around
Reflection builds experience
But don’t be a continuous mirror to all those past painful moments
Relax for these next couple of seconds
I want you to think about the garden in your mind
Yes, we all have one
Now, what does yours look like?
Are there flowers?
Or constant thunder storms with blasts of lightening?
I imagine that’s a hard question to answer
Because our moods are constantly changing
So don’t tell me
And I won’t try to guess
We’ll just go through this poem
And I’ll try to plant new seeds
I don’t know much
But I have seen happiness re-bloom
In my life, I clung to Love and Creativity
And that’s where I found redemption
With my head in the clouds,
I fight away my depression everyday
And that’s how I know we are going to be okay
