In Dreams

I conjure you
In the night
We walk supported by two pillars
One dark, one light

The darkness separates us
The light cleaves us as one
As much as you are with me
By morning you are gone

A taste, a wisp of memory
Just beyond my grasp
Reminds me undeniably
Your presence now is past
The business yet unfinished
To right all perceived wrongs
By avatar and metaphor
By sorrow and by song

The tears I cry in slumber
Bring gifts I never knew
In dreams there are no judgments
Only gratitude
