In Mourning: Jess

A drop of sorrow fills my heart
A bucket of pain
for an extra dime
But where life ends
A new one starts
A year of rain
At an early time

I can’t pretend
How much I hate
The order,
The chaos,
O save me from
The rain.

I sit intact
No one lives around me
I am one
In a universe of water
Joy swims around my
Protective case
Just outside
My
Grasp
