In Our Childhood

We sit in our chairs and look back
To the time of all that fun
To our wonderful childhood days
That will soon be done
We see the rug where we first stepped
We see the spot where we often wept
And all those times where we just sat
Looking at the world thinking "What's that?"
We see all those times where we just laughed
In Our Childhood
We see the field where we scored our very first goal
We see the spot where we shared our secrets never told
We see the place where we wanted to grow up and become old
We see the couch where we kissed our dog before she died
We see the place where we would run and hide
In Our Childhood
We see the rock where we got chills for the first day of school
We see the bench on the playground where someone called you cool
We see the mirror where we stared and witnessed change
We see the gym where we wanted to win the game
In Our Childhood
We sit in our chairs
We look ahead
It waits to unfold
The story that has yet been told
