In Search Of

I was in search of a familiar face as I fell asleep.
Through my nightmare he found and gave me inner peace.

As I felt the hand of God touch me, he whispered, "Now get some rest."
At that moment I realized that this life is a test.

For all our sins, Jesus took each and every pain-filled nail.
He paid our price for sin because he knew we would fail.

During our struggles, we have a faithful friend we can turn to.
He is patiently waiting for me and you.

The blood stains were our sins he would bear.
He chose to do it so we would be spared.

How many times must we turn our backs and walk away?
What if there is but one chance left before judgment day?

How will you explain yourself before the great I Am in spirit?
What if he told you it's too late because you refused to hear it?

Call in him and give of yourself as he gave for you and me.
Then, when this life is over, at his right side we shall be.
