In the Blink of an Eye

The silence is deafening
The empty roads
Waiting on a tubmbleweed to roll through the streets
A feeling of aloneness in the middle of the city
Eerie feeling seeing the blankness
Nothing filling the lines
What just happened
Am I essential
Please tell me I am essential
Don't get sick
Where is my mask
You know
The one I wore every day before it was required
Is this even real
Enough is enough
Can I just leave this earth now
Everything is either on fire
Being blown away beat up
protested defunded trafficked
I want to run away and hide
Nowhere to go except isolation
If we just vote someone will fix it
Just breathe
It has already been written
This too shall pass
